What this is

So, as I said in the sermon today, I would love for this to become a place where we at Grace (and other friends and family) can come and communicate together about serving our King Jesus and having our church best reflect the awesome, amazing, transforming, dynamic, transcendent.... (add your own adjective here) God.

I couldn't agree more but remember that the Spirit moves primarily through God's people to facilitate and accomplish God's will, He does not operate in a vacuum(though He could). The issue as I see it is not whether the Spirit will move but whether God's people will allow Him to move THEM. I see that God's people more generally reflect the culture and attitudes around them. We sue each other, divorce each other, extort each other and take advantage of each other sometimes even worse than the "world" we're so afraid of. Unfortunately there are a lot of Christians that are very unsafe people to be around. If we can't really trust each other... I personally find that unsaved people are generally more accepting and less judgemental of me and my ideas, my music etc. than some others who claim the name of Christ. I think we have a long way to go to change our ethos.

I agree. The real question for churches in general and Grace in particular is whether or not we as a people really want the Spirit to change us or not. Because when He comes to minister, it will probably shake us from our attitudes and opinions to really see what is from God or not.
